Man catches wife sleeping with a prophet

A Harare man caught his wife at it with the man of the cloth before dumping her for his brother's wife, a court heard.

Japhet Mutimanyoka (32) allegedly found his wife Tendai Sitereto (29) having sex with a prophet from an unidentified apostolic sect (Madzibaba) and opted to dump her for his late brother's wife.

This was revealed when he appeared before Mbare magistrate Rueben Mukavhi facing a charge of physical abuse. He came clean and pleaded guilty to the charge. Magistrate Mukavhi questioned him on why he committed the offence and he blamed it on his wife.

"I caught her with Madzibaba in our bedroom having sex. I was told by my landlord that she is having an affair with a prophet and I caught them red handed forcing me to assault her," said Japhet.

However, for the offence he was fined $30 with an option for 10 days imprisonment.

State counsel Lawrence Gangarahwe proved that on 1 August at around 8pm, Japhet arrived at his place of residence at House No. 29 Whitecliff and told his wife to vacate his house with immediate effect. He advised her to pack her belongings and go back to her parents. The state had it that she refused prompting Japhet to beat her up.

Tendai, after being thrashed up, reported the matter to the police, leading to Japhet's arrest.
